Amanda Knox, is a Netflix Original Documentary, directed by Rod Blackhurst and Brian McGinn. The film retells the well-known international scandal through intelligent and honest interviews and extensive use of archival footage. The film shies away from typical tell-all documentaries, as it does not aim to answer whodunit; instead, Amanda knox is a thoughtful piece that explores a culture obsessed with scandal. The strong focus on how the media’s portrayal of Amanda Knox affected the trial, is a fresh spin on a story that has been told and retold numerous times since 2007. The documentary had a very high production value (which is to be expected from a Netflix Original production) and employed an expository mode of filmmaking by utilizing commentary and voiceover from interviewees and collected footage that functioned to reinforce the spoken narrative. …show more content…
