Many people believe that the President is the brains behind an operation. The president was only one of these brains. Do these people know that the first lady is a big factor in these decisions? First Lady Nancy Reagan was the wife of Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, and she is one of the many admired first ladies. Anne “Frances” Nancy Robbins was born July 6, 1921. She was born into a new and loving family as she was the first and only child. Her mother was an actress named Edith P. Luckett and her father was a used-car salesman named Kenneth Seymour Robbins. Years after Nancy was born the couple divorced. Ms. Luckett remarried to a neurosurgeon named Loyal Davis. Though her eight years at the White House, her accomplishments stretched including traveling across the world as a public speaker against drug abuse, creating the relationship between Reagan and the Soviet Union President, and she reduced drug use in the world and communism in Russia. Not only did she do these remarkable accomplishments around the world, but she did some things around the White House as well like changing the wallpaper patterns, purchasing finer China, renovating floors, doors, and other hardware, and carefully testing meals.
