Change is everywhere and happening constantly all around us. Change can be a good thing depending on what is changing. There are some areas in my life that could use some change. I live my life the best that I know how; however, that does not mean that I am the best. There are two mindsets that people live by, fixed and growth mindset. Often, I find myself living with the fixed mindset which includes staying static in life and not changing. Therefore, one thing that I need to work on in my life is living to change and better myself. Starting off, on major thing that I need to do better is not avoiding challenges. As I reflect on myself I find that when I am presented with a challenge I generally try to find the easiest route that I can take as to no test myself. For example, sometimes when I am lifting in the weight room we are given sets with a certain number of repetitions to complete. As I am doing that exercise if I am tired or I think that something will be to hard I will do a lighter weight just to avoid the challenge. This is an example of fixed mindset because I am not pushing myself to be the best version of myself like those with growth mindsets do. One example of an obstacle in my life is the transition of the high school classroom and the college lecture. College professors do not generally teach the same way that my teachers in high school did which creates a barrier in my learning process. Now, because of this I find myself not working harder to self-teach but instead to just rely on what I pick up in class and hope that I do well on the next exam. This is fixed mindset because instead of being persistent despite of the obstacles that stand in my way I give up. I will overcome this by reaching out to my teachers when I need help and taking initiative to keep moving
