About three-hundred and seventeen years ago, a deadly piece of art was created to use as a weapon to protect and free the Americans from the grasp of Great Britain. It was lethal but had a sort of beauty to it that portrays liberty and independence. This piece of art was titled the Traditional Flintlock Musket Accouterments and there were multiple copies of it being made each having its own unique style of design. However, historical significance is not the only thing that makes it remarkable in a museum. The fact that this weapon is able to show you how our military weaponry has evolved from guns that can only shoot a single shot at a time to firearms that can hold over twenty shots in a round. That’s quite an innovation, by enabling guns to hold more shots per round, this increases the efficiency of weapon by cutting back on time spent reloading. So this weapon not only leaves a historic impression, but a technological one as well. The flintlock musket can bring its viewers back to when technology was more simple and express how far we’ve advanced through decades of new inventions and innovation. Even the weapon itself was a sign of innovation during its time period, being modeled based on the design of the Flintlock rifle (Gun Timeline). A very simple change put the flintlock musket over its rifle counterpart and it was the fact the musket was easier to carry around due to its shorter barrel (Gun Timeline).
