Fly in Fly out or better known FIFO workers are members of the public who work away from home making a daily commute to work impractical these include working on mining sites, being a truck driver and even people whose work means they must travel interstate or around the world for work. The FIFO phenomenon has become more evident in recent years due to a major spike in the mining and other related industries. Sibbel, A. M. Workers with small children and wives may repeatedly have to go through separation and having to say goodbye to their families from long periods of time. Workers may find it difficult to settle back into home life when they fly back as families usually have routines which can put immense strain on relationships which may result in martial breakdown and divorce. These situations may put pressure on the worker and result in a mental health issues emerging such as depression or anxiety and resulting in suicidal thoughts. Hagemann, B.
