I was no younger than 8 years old when I started playing the sport that I strive to play for every morning when I wake up. Football is a great sport, but so is rugby. Football and rugby are very similar sports that are played in similar ways, but also are played in very different ways. Rugby and football are roughly played sports, and are sports that call for tough people to play. The field, time, points, rules, and the players are all different, but they are similar in the way they are played, uniforms wore, the way the game starts, and the equipment used during games. In rugby however, there are only four substitutions. They can only be subbed in twelve times, after those twelve times there can not be anymore interchanges and if someone gets hurt they have to play shorthanded.(“Rugby Game”) When they play short handed it is not good for their team because they are limited. Rugby does not have special teams, and most (if not all) of their players play offense and defense both. Football also only has one quarterback on the field at a time, and in rugby there are three quarterbacks.(“Rugby Football”) The quarterbacks are the people that make the plays, in football the quarterback is the one that throws the ball to the open player that can run to make a touchdown or that can easily advance forward so they can make a point. Football and rugby are played with the same equipment during their
