Music is a universal language that has been around for many years. It is a language that is used to help describe a culture. Music throughout many of years has been used to get certain views points and messages across to particular audiences. Also, it uses the catchy beats and lyrics to help keep their message fresh and relevant to their different audiences. The different in artist or genre does not change the main purpose for the writing the music, instead it just gives each song their own personality.
The personality of the music comes through how the artist catches the attention of their audiences. It can be done in multiple way depending on the message the writer is trying to get the audience to receive. In the song “For my Glory” by Tasha Cobbs the message is simple and clear. Tasha Cobbs is speaking to an audience of believers in this song. She is a Christian artist and speaks to the same audience in most of her songs, but each song has a different message to give to her listeners. In this particular piece she is discussing the topic of risking everything in life in order to become close to God. The song begins with her crying out for help from God because she knows that without him in her life nothing is possible.
