There are many career opportunities available for forensic psychologists such as law reinforcement organizations, trial or attorney consultation, and corrections. But, similar to any other career in the world we need proper training and education to be able to pursue forensic psychology career. Morgan et al., (2005) suggested that a combination of law and clinical psychology; or a doctorate degree in counseling or clinical psychology with proper training focus on forensics could be the first step climbing the ladder of success in forensic psychology. Not to mention, finding a proper practicum or training related to forensic psychology could be the next step. “There are many APA-accredited internship sites that offer training in forensic psychology” (Morgan et al., 2005, p. 127).
On the other hand, Morgan et al., (2005) conducted that there are a few number of postdoctoral programs available that are accredited by APPIC (Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers). According to Morgan et al., (2005) postdoctoral programs are very helpful in states that are required licensure for psychologists to be able to work and apply treatment.
