Fourth of July Frenzy

1. The narrator of the story, Sister, begins the story by repeating this lie from Stella-Rondo, “Told him I was one-sided. From the opening paragraph the main conflict of the story is revealed. Sister claims to have quarrels with her entire family, but the loss of Mr. Whitaker’s love is still her motive. Sister is not aware of the fact that what Stella-Rondo says is not just meant in a physical way, but attacking her character as well. Stella-Rondo was aware that keeping her child and marital problems to herself and from her family would keep the situation mild or “cooler”. Sister finishes her thought by expressing how before Stella-Rondo could be heard she has to open the windows. Symbolizes her private life in Illinois and her return back home to souls who could hear her.
4. In reply to a remark made by Uncle Rondo about reading others mail Sister replies, “I draw my own conclusions and will continue in the future to draw
