Anyone who read Frankenstein already knows there are major differences between the book and the movie itself. The newer movie has more in common with the book then the older version does. The newer one was spot on like the book and it gave me a vivid image on how everyone looked, but the older one seemed like the more realistic frankenstein. In the older one Frankenstein looks like an actual creature unlike in the new one he looks like a ugly human. But not only was the creature different wo where the characters and their names.
One major difference of the book and the movie is that in the book the protagonist’s name is Victor but the movie he is named Henry. In both the old movie and the book Victor barbarically digs up graves to retrieve body parts to conduct his project of creating the creature. The creature was brought to life the same way in the book and the movie, on a stormy night he was brought to life with lighting. Another similarity was that Victor/Henry has the same professors as the book and movie. Victor and Elizabeth still get married in both the movie

There are many more differences from the book and movie, for starters the way the creature learns is a lot different. In the novel the creature finds some books and teaches himself to read and write while in the movie the creature learned all he knew from watching the DeLacey Family. In the book it doesn’t come upon how the creature was created, we know he was created by different body parts being put together but it doesn’t give us a vivid image of that but in the movie you can see victor grave robbing. Also in the book the creature was a kind soul and saved the little girl from drowning but in the movie the monster was learning the concept of floating and thought the little girl would float but she didn’t so he accidentally kills her in the movie but letting her
