His one-track mind has lead him to become more and more isolated from society he is forgetting normal mannerism. This condescending quote shows that he thinks science is almighty but in reality any study can go deeper and deeper. Science is ever expanding but if you have gotten to the point where you think there is no more to learn then you are doing something wrong, whether it is science or underwater crocheting. Through going deeper into any study new anomalies and phenomena can be born and dissected. By thinking how incandescent any other study is shows the stages of evolvement and envelopment upon Victor. Through the thoughts of Victor it may be clear that he wants to think that science is almighty to close off any other thoughts that might make him believe he can’t play
