work so he can provide for his family. He realizes he slept through his alarm and missed his train. His mother comes to his door and asked him if he is ok. Gregor tries to respond to her but realizes his voice isn't human any more. Gregor hears the doorbell ring and it is his boss. He gets very nervous and tries to get out of bed but doesn't know how to get his body to move the way he wants it too. He finally figures out how to roll over and fall out of bed. His boss tells him off and demands he open the door. Gregor crawls to the door and defends himself. He finally makes it to the door and opens it . His boss and family are shocked and disgusted by his new body. His boss leaves and Gregor tries to catch up to him but he is chased back to his room by his family. He figures out that he can't go to work or even outside in his condition. His sister visits him but she can't stand the sight of him or his smell. Gregor has decided that if the furniture was removed from his room, he would have more space to crawl around. Gregor gets upset when Grete and his mother start taking furniture out of his room. They removed his writing desk he used doing his assignments as a boy. He is trying to hold on to a few reminders of his humanity, he decides to cling on to a picture of a woman dressed in fur that way no one can take it away from him. It is hard for Gregor to get use to his new body or to find a roll in the family, they are disgusted with him and ashamed of his presence in the house.
Even though Gregor can't communicate with his family and couldn't have a normal life. He got use to his room, climbing the walls, his food, and sleeping under the couch. Gregor's new life is like if someone has moved to a new country and has to get use to new things and the
