Frederick Lee Shuttlesworth (Fred Shuttlesworth) was born on March 18th 1922 and he died on October 5th 201l , he was 89 years old . He was born in Mount Meigs Alabama . He had been poor health for about a year and was hospitalized with breathing problems.Birmingham's Princeton Baptist Medical Center was where Shuttlesworth died. Shuttlesworth was was the last of the civil rights movement's called the "Big Three”. He was a Baptist minister and one of the South's most prominent Civil Rights leaders. By 1949 Shuttleworths was preaching at Selma's First Baptist Church for $10 a week. Fred Graduated Valedictorian from High School. He assorted jobs before finding his calling to the pulpit. He studied at the ministerial institution Selma University in 1951 , then he earned his B.S. From Alabama state college.
In 1953 he soon became a pastor at Birmingham’s Bethel Baptist Church and he took over it. In 1955 he supported the Montgomery bus Boycott led by King. He stated actively to participate in the growing of Civil Rights Movement Shuttlesworth established the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights in 1956.
