Technology’s Effects On Society Technology is getting exponentially more powerful everyday. Not only has it reshaped society but is changing the human brain all together. This is all happening due to the growing popularity of phones, ipads, computers, televisions, and the internet.

In the first place, people are developing an addiction to always having a phone with them or having the T.V. on. Mildred, a character from Fahrenheit 451 is the perfect example of the concept of that having an obsession with technology will change you. We can see this in Fahrenheit 451 where technology has completely replaced books. People would rather view things through a screen then imagine them through a book. As they stated in Fahrenheit 451 “Books aren’t people. You read and i look around, but there isn't anybody there!” Mildred, again, uses the same defence that books are not real. This proves how the advancement of technology is altering the mind. Above all, at the rate today's society is changing in the way Fahrenheit 451’s did, where people are glued to their television and have no concept of the real world. In the article As Technology Gets Better, Will Society Get Worse? by Tim Wu he explains this by claiming “If we’re not careful, out technological evolution will take us toward not a singularity but a sofalarity. That’s a future defined not by an evolution toward superintelligence but by the absence of discomforts.” In this society the people want information to come to them quickly and easily.
