With the commencement of the French- Aboriginal fur trade, the competition for beaver fur increased with an identical increase in demand for it [12]. Since beaver pelts were the main currency northern and French trappers began to exploit the trapping of beavers. Trappers exploited their land until extinction and continued on to others in order to capitalize off of beaver pelts. By 1635 beavers were becoming scarce as a result of the greedy trappers.
