During Shakespeare’s tragedy, in some way, Friar Lawrence’s abrupt actions lead to the two deaths through his decision to marry the teenagers, providing Juliet with the vial, and his choice to leave Juliet alone in the graveyard. When Romeo first asks for Friar Lawrence’s assistance in marrying him and Juliet, Friar refuses. Despite what he just said, Friar quickly changes his mind and will “thy assistant be” (2.3.90). At first he is wise to refuse, believing that Romeo is still in love with Rosaline. But his impulsivity takes over when he chooses to marry them even though he is well aware of the families grudge. However he will later regret this after he realizes what the marriage has caused. Later on, Juliet arrives to Friar Lawrence seeking
