Friar Lawrence Is To Blame In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

In William Shakespeare’s play,The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, all the characters can be blamed. But the three characters that can be blamed the most are Lady Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and Fate. Lady Capulet can be blamed because she did not stick up for what her daughter wants and she is pushing her to get married. Friar Lawrence needs to be blamed because he married the two and sets them up to die. And Fate is being blamed because nothing beats Fate, things happen whether you want them to or not. Fate can be the most blamed for what happened to Romeo and Juliet because Fate is destined to happen no matter what, you can not change Fate. For example, “....A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their lives….The fearful passage of their death-mark’d love….(DBQ:Project,2013) This shows the readers that their love is nothing but Fate and it was meant to happen, also it shows that the story foreshadows what is going to happen. (DBQ:Project,2013) This quote is showing Juliet is trying to get out of marrying Paris. So Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a potion that made her seem dead and make everybody worry about her. Friar Lawrence then wrote letters to give to Romeo explaining what was happening but instead of giving it to Romeo himself he sent Friar John to give the letters to him but never succeeded.
