The world knows the genius work of William Shakespeare, the epic love story of two star-crossed lovers. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays. There are many characters in the play. The main characters are Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The story starts with feuding families, Romeo and Juliet being from each. They fall in love and decide to get married in secret. In a crazy turn of events, the both commit suicide. There are three main groups responsible for the things that happened. The families Montague and Capulet, Friar Lawrence and Romeo himself. These people are at fault because of their irresponsible choices made throughout the play. The clearest and most reasonable people to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are their families. In the prologue, it says “Two households alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where

Because of his bias agenda, he did not think to consider the dangers of Romeo and Juliet. In this theatrical work, Friar Lawrence says, “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be/ For this alliance may so happy prove/ To turn households rancor to pure love” (2.3.90-92). Before this, Friar Lawrence was reacting harshly to the fact Romeo had so quickly gotten over Rosaline, then agrees to marry them, purely thinking for the bettering of the community. Also later on in the play, he makes a not so well founded plan, which does result in the suicides of both the beloved ones. It does seem they likely trusted him because of his acts to help Romeo before, which also resulted in a not so terrible outcome. Friar Lawrence is also to blame because he is the one that gave Juliet the potion. Juliet says “Give me, give me! O, tell not me of fear!”(4.1.123).
