There were two heartbreaking deaths in the well-known play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Both Romeo and Juliet were destined to die and in the end, the “star-crossed” lovers made their destiny a reality. Although there are many people that can be blamed for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence had an integral role in the two tragic deaths.
Although it seems that Tybalt was accountable for the demise of the “two star-crossed lovers” that was not the case. After further investigating the deaths of Romeo and Juliet it can be concluded that Friar Lawrence should be held responsible for the demise of the “star- crossed” lovers. Although, Tybalt was the one that put the events of Romeo and Juliet dying into place. Romeo got banished when Tybalt started a fight, which led to the death of Tybalt and Mercutio. Then Juliet’s father wanted to marry Juliet off because he thought that would help with the grief she was experiencing. But, in reality, that made Juliet fake her death which led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. But, Friar Lawrence was the one that gave Juliet a potion that allowed her to fake her death. For example, Friar Lawrence told her about a plan to make sure that she didn’t marry Paris, “No warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest” (4.1.99). This proves that Friar Lawrence was responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because when Juliet took the potion to fake her death, Romeo thought she was truly dead because he had not been informed of the plan. Since Romeo did not know about the plan he ended up killing self which then caused Juliet to kill herself. Friar Lawrence also encouraged

Since the beginning, Friar Lawrence encouraged the secret relationship between Romeo and Juliet. He made foolish decisions without thinking what could occur in the future. All in all the play Romeo and Juliet show that you can’t avoid your
