Mojo! Mojo! Here come the Permian Panthers! They are the ALL-STAR team of Odessa, Texas! A one of kind team! A one of kind town! A one of kind dream! A one of kind history-EVER! Believe it or not, Football was and still is an addiction in Odessa! Also, it is a town that glowed brightly only on Friday Nights--for a chance to see the Permian Panthers beat their opponent! It is August of 1988, and Odessa is a town that prioritized in winning the state football championship. The only thing that mattered to the town was winning, which resulted in other areas that were neglected. This idea of winning has been at the top of the town since thirty years before. Thousands of people showed up for Friday Night Lights Football games at Permian High School. Even more, hundreds waited for hours outside the stadium before a game not even knowing if they would enter the game. In addition, everyday priorities were forgotten. Education was an area that lacked interest, racism was a concern, and football players were put on a pedestal. These areas of concern were noted in both the movie and book titled Friday Night Lights.

The actors play a great performance. Coach Gaines, played by Billy Bob Thornton, is very well liked by his players, and is determined to win the championship. I enjoyed how he was full of energy in the movie wanting his players to win. Another actor, Tim McGraw, plays a drunken father named Charles who makes fun of his son, Don who is on the team. It is hurtful to see how Charles treats his son as he walks on the field on one of the games and embarrasses his son in front of thousands of people because he played bad. Next, the music was great in the movie. It kept me wanting the watch the movie right along with the action of
