Stephen King’s novella, “The body” portrays friendship and coming of age in a whole different fashion. “The body” is centered around a group of four close friends, Gordie Lachance, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp, and Vern Tessio. “The body” is in the perspective of adult Gordie and writes through flashbacks of his childhood. News that a young boy named Ray Brower has died and that his body is missing sparks interest within Gordie’s group of friends so they set out to find the body, thus the title of the novella.
