From Hamlet: Comparing His Father To His Uncle

Hamlet compares his father and uncle to himself and Hercules, who in the tales is stronger and mightier in strength and status. This shows the greatness of his distaste for his uncle and how exceptional Hamlet thought his dad was. Hamlet also seems to be self-aware that even though he is a prince, he is still only a man, one that knows that he is not more powerful than the mythical Hercules; just the same as his uncle to his father. Which leaves a question in the air: If Hamlet is comparing his father to Hercules, is he then comparing himself to his uncle? This makes me think that maybe Hamlet believes that even though he detests his uncle, they may be somewhat alike; or perhaps this analogy was used only for the sake of simplicity; only time
