As BTK grew confident in his ability to play God, so does his arrogant to taunt the citizens of Wichita. Impressed with himself, he aggressively sought out their attention. Six months after the death of Kathryn Bright, the Wichita Eagle newspaper got an anonymous phone call stating that there’s a hidden letter at the public library. Inside the letter, it contained details of the Otero murders and his declaration of being the BTK killer. After the death of Nancy Fox, he called the police giving them Nancy’s address. A year later, he would send the Wichita Eagle newspaper a poem about Shirley Vain’s murder. However, the poem wasn’t connected to Shirley’s murder until BTK, angry for a lack of attention, sent another letter taking responsibility for the first six murders. For the next 15 years after Nancy Fox’s death and another 15 years after Dolores Davis death, the killings had stopped perhaps due to Dennis’s busy schedule. However, Dennis still found ways to feel superior over others.
