There were many things that were attainable in the 1920’s but the American Dream was said to be the easiest.The 1920’s was a time of new and fresh ideas, to woman working,or the black culture booming. According to the propaganda of the

1920’s the American Dream could be obtained easily. The American Dream was attainable if it was worked hard for. Many people of the 1920’s had different versions of the American Dream.

In the both the movie and the novel Daisy doesn’t talk much about her daughter. Daisy states that I hope she’ll be a fool-that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool. This statement shows that women in the 1920’s would be able to survive or get what they wanted if they had a man to take care of them.

Scott also gives the readers the idealism of the 1920’s. In the novel the narrator states that if a personality is an unbroken series of successful gestures, then there was something gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promise of life. The narrator is talking Jay Gatsby and how he is a hopeful dreamer.Also how he represents the very idea of the American Dream.

There were many different relationships in the novel that also represented the American Dream in the 1920’s. Such as Daisy’s and Tom’s relationship. Nick states in the novel , she looked at me with an absolute smirk on her lovely face as if she had asserted her membership in a rather distinguished secret society to which she and Tom belonged. In this statement Nick points out that Daisy will not leave Tom no matter how bad her marriage is or how unhappy she is. Nick also points out that Daisy won’t leave because she loves the lifestyle she is
