She watched as her world burned. She had no idea who she could trust and did not know what could be done to save it. With people fighting left and right, accusations thrown all over, and discrimination and oppression rates rising, she felt powerless. After all, who could trust a little girl when the media reports that “...millennials are self-absorbed, unmotivated, entitled workaholics...” (Ribbons). No one even took into account that that report was a poll done by a show with age demographics averaging fifty-three years of age. It does not matter anyways; if that poll was not reported, people would search for another more discreditable one that degrades her age group. Now she knows she cannot do that. It takes more than “just a moment” and more than dreams to fix the world. She reminisced on all the plans she made for the future as everything she knew perished before her eyes. The media of the world has become too biased, so much so that people only use part of the truth to defend their argument, even though the rest of it may be more credible and contradict their beliefs. If the girl could, she would try and help. Alas, she is far too young and the world deems her unfit. Because bias in the media has gone on far too long and continues to spiral into a deeper hole of international destruction, time is precious, and the only way to battle the issue may be in moderation with at least one well-funded organization, similar to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as a third party to control the …show more content…
Media outlets, such as rivals Fox News and CNN, slander one another regardless of the occurrence (Stelter). However, during the race, the two took it a step further and created an over coverage of the scandals of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, as well as an under coverage of Bernie Sanders (Roller). This eventually lead the nation towards the two shameful candidates for a farce race as, “An analysis of news coverage from the 2016 primary races found that mainstream media outlets engaged in “journalistic bias” that led to over-coverage of the Donald Trump campaign and under-coverage of Democratic candidates, in particular, Sen.
