There are several factors as to why height in children has increased worldwide. Some reasons for the increase differ from country to country. When dealing with the majority, one of the main reasons for a continuous increase in growth is the increased knowledge of nutrition and the ability to treat diseases that in previous generations were left un-attended too (Bukatko 2008). As for many Asian countries such as Japan, the height increase came from not only better nutrition and medical care but the abolition of child labor (Bukatko 2008). In congruence with better health care and nutrition, prominent families tend to have healthier children. This could be looked at as a second factor—professional, educational, and economical backgrounds also play an important hand in the growth of a child. In addition to a families wealthy the accessibility to synthetic drugs such as HGH can also help evoke a healthy growth rate in a child who seems to be stagnate in that area (Bukatko 2008).

There are many consequences that an obese child has to deal with growing up. I can speak from experience.
