Have you ever heard a story in which a mother kills her daughters, not one baby but eight baby girls? This brutal act of killing innocent and speechless human beings was done by the kids’ mother to get one son. The account of these killings is the opening scene of the documentary film “It’s a Girl”. No action was taken against the mother because the government of the country where these acts took place is careless and frequently ignores this type of murder. Sometimes greed to obtain one thing (in this case, a son) is so much that a person loses control of his/her morality. The killing of daughters is terrible and is only one form of gendercide. In Tamil Naidu, one woman killed her eight daughters because she wanted a boy. In her interview in the film, she told the methods that she used to kill eight babies. The most shared and brutal methods used by her was pouring acid, poison in milk, moist rice to block the oxygen and strangulation. For example, in China, if a woman is pregnant and it is her second or third child then she has to go through forced abortion.
