The article by George Borja makes a very compelling case about vetting immigrants. I do agree there have been many vetting practices in place letting in certain higher people. There are two aspect of Borja argument that I disagree with. In a sense it could be argue that its part of the American identity to vet people however the opposite could also be argue. An argument could be made that this nation was not founded rich people. That poor people were the ones looking for the land of opportunity. This is also part of the American identity. A nation born from immigrants looking for a better future. So just because such vetting practices were in place decades ago and although some may still be in place, it doesn't make them right.
