For over a decade, dance has been a major part of my life. It has provided me with a very important and necessary outlet early on in my life. It gave me an alternative to the other more violent sports such as Hockey, Rugby, and MMA that I was involved in. As I got older my dedication and passion towards dance began to grow tremendously. Eventually eclipsing all of the other sports I was involved in. The relationships I have built with some of the other dancers I have performed with have lasted to this day. The students and teachers that I have worked with have inspired me to become a better dancer in every way, and to embrace every opportunity possible. I hope to join George Browns’ Dance Performance Preparation Program not only to take my dance training to the next level and expose myself to a new dance environment, but to also be inspired by new dancers and forge new relationships with the amazing and dynamic people of George Brown. …show more content…
The l training I would receive would help me develop by forming a necessary base in styles such as classical ballet, while also improving components of, jazz, contemporary and modern dance. The diversity of the program is what makes the program so desirable, it allows dancers to train in a variety of different styles where as other schools mainly focus on one style such as ballet, jazz or modern. This is one of the many reasons that I have chosen to apply to the Dance Performance Preparation Program at George Brown.
