During The civil war The Union needed help with ideas to fight the war against the confederates. During the War the government sends George B. Mcclellan to find out how europeans fight war. George Mcclellan was 28 at the time Had graduated from West Point and later during the war becomes major-general and leads the army of Potomac. While on his trip to France George Mcclellan and two other officers examined french war techniques and brought them back to The United States. Out of all the reports given to the U.S. Mcclellan’s was the best. The Union started teaching soldiers on the tactics mclellan brought back from Europe. He even trained his own army with the skills he learned. Mclellan was later removed from his position because he would not
