a. It is an allegory because it is a metaphor about a farm society that represents the human society. Orwell uses the barnyard animals to symbolize human types as he portrays people in the human society. All of the animals have human traits. Overall the whole story is based on the Soviet Union. It can be read on several levels and present many life lessons.

b. It is a rhetorical because it tells us that we don't have to work for anyone. It persuades us to work for ourselves. The rhetorical components shows us how the animals worked for theirselves. The animals got tired of working for the humans. They didn't want to work for the humans instead they worked for eachother.
