A. It is President Abraham Lincoln's most famous speech. It was delivered four and a half months after the Battle of Gettysburg, during the Civil War on November 19th. 1863. It is said to be one of the most quoted political speeches.

The speech invoked the principles of human equality supported by the Declaration of Independence.
