March 16, 2016 I sat in my closet crying until I had no tears left. I was crying because my foster sister that was eighteen months had just been seized from our home after she had lived with us since she was thirteen days old.Then I in school the day she was taken away feeling defeated. Later that day I came home and cried. But as I sat in my room crying, feeling defenseless, my parents realized something else. My parents realized that America has given us the amazing gift of being able to voice our opinion in court. My parents then hired a lawyer and we fought for my sister. As the days went by I missed her even more. I still cried, I still was overcome with grief, but at least I had hope. A gift from America that is accustomed to our generation
