In Langley Washington State, there is the Giraffe Award project. It is were they identify people who care about others, people who take risk for others, and helps out when they are not asked to. This project was created to honor those people. It was made for people who, “stick out their necks for common good.” They have 5 criterias that they have to pass, which is taking a risk, they act out of caring, they rock the boat, they are ultimately healing, and goes beyond the call of duty. They have to meet most of the criteria to be nominated for the Giraffe Award.
Some may claim that Betty Washington should win the award because, she decide to try and the drug traffic in her neighbour, was determined to make the area that she lives in safer for the kids and adults that live there. Also, she demanded that the police be more vigilant. She also worked with other groups to stop the drug traffic. She helped a lot for her neighbour.…show more content… First, he rocked the boat. Usually if a lawyer doesn't want to go up against a person , and the other person goes up against them they are rocking the boat.
