Throughout history societies have been remarkably patriarchal, women have had insufficient rights, and not considered equivalent to men. Not permitted to own property, read sacred texts, or suffrage was very infrequent just a few centuries ago. However, it is now a new era and women are more successful or powerful more than ever. To be a successful women is to achieve goals and to do things that make one jubliant. Success is when a goal is achieved, and nothing is more rewarding than achieving a goal to fabricate a difference. Gloria Steinem is a prime example of this ideology. Steinem represented brilliant, accomplished women who wanted more than what was possible in generations before them in the Women’s Liberation Act in the 1960s and 1970s. Gloria Steinem saw a problem so she devoted her time and efforts in making a difference for women around the world. Successful women can be athletes, entrepreneurs, mothers, or government figures. There is no limitation to what a successful woman can be, but what all successful women have in common is that they achieve the goals the set forth for themselves. …show more content…

From my experience, my mom is a stay at home mom but considers her life a success because her life is full of bliss.
