Great post! I agree that food should be labeled. If education regarding GMO’s were provided to everyone I think people would eat less of it. I can understand the reasoning for creating GMO food but I don’t agree with genetic modifications for herbicide tolerance and soil bacteria that allow plants to produce their own insecticide. Those types of genetic modification just doesn’t sound safe. “Plants are given a gene that protects them from harm when a farmer sprays them with herbicides to kill weeds. Another commonly added trait is a gene from a soil bacteria called Bacillus thuringiensis that allows plants to produce their own insecticide” (USA Today, 2012).
