In Frank Romero's “Going to the Olympics, 1984” painting there are many symbolizations. For one, the horse is an illusion you can say as to the horse race that is played. The Zeppelin represents the popular company in Los Angeles, the iron represents the film market. The Cars with the hearts above them symbolizes the City of Los Angeles and how much love people have for their cars and the palm trees show what everyone sees on their way home from work or anywhere else they may be heading to, and the two men fighting show the determination from each player in the Olympics and the games that are played that rely on human force. Based on the image I feel that Romero believes that our city is very dependent and loving for our cars it is our most common use of transportation. I identified this, by the way he used cars as a symbol for the Olympics in our city and how he put hearts on top of it, he had the choice to paint any picture he wanted to representing the Olympics. I feel that since the painting is by the freeway in Los Angeles, it gave him inspiration to paint what he did.
Franks Romero was paid and provided with the tools to paint a mural in which represents the Olympics. In due time, it was destroyed by unknown taggers in Los Angeles. Romero one day went to visit his painting and was very disappointed to see it was painted over blankly as if it

If Romero claims he wished that he didn't ask to get his painting restored the City of Los Angeles should've agreed and not have done it. I believe it was a waste of time. People have the choice to wake up and do whatever they want either bad or good it's a free world and you can't prevent someone from tagging or even painting over your painting it's life, things
