I have never personally seen the movie GoodFellas before, but if I was to watch it now I would have a much better understanding of it then I would have without the film break down. Everything Martin Scorsese put into this movie had a propose. The shots of gangsters and there belongs to show how Henry wanted what they had is a wonderful illustration of lust, envy and desire. This also seems to be the first and most important cultural experience Henry has with the mafia, which entices him to join later on. Another part of the movie that I found really interesting was Scorsese use of freeze-frame. I would have never thought that every freeze-frame was memory Henry found important to him. Nor would I have thought that a director would use it
