The organization that I volunteered at this semester is Goodhue. At Goodhue their primary clients are children from low income families in grades Pre-k through eighth grade. The goal of Goodhue is to serve as an after school center for children. They helped the children do their homework and also preformed educational activities as well. Many parents work late during the week so the children are brought to Goodhue and picked up at a later time during the day. The organization also helps children with their academics as well. At Goodhue there is an hour a day devoted to homework time. Counselors will go around group by group helping the children with their homework. The part that makes Goodhue unique is the children.
