When observing the text in the Gospel of Luke, there are recurring premises that maintain preeminence throughout the book. The first theme found is that of the Holy Spirit’s importance, which is referenced “fourteen times” (Harris, 2014, p. 204) in the Gospel of Luke. Also, based on the text Luke believes that the growth of Christianity and the great acts observed during that period was directly related to the Holy Spirit (Harris, 2014). Additionally, the focus on prayer throughout the Gospel reoccurred in numerous significant passages. In fact, when studying Luke’s version of Jesus and the disciples’ interactions prayer is predominate in these narratives.
