The only time in which there should be an exception to this rule is for the purposes of criminal investigations. Other than that, technology and internet have become a vital aspect of the daily life of society. As such, it is the duty of the people to put this privilege to good use. It is up to us to monitor ourselves and make judgment calls as decent human beings. Government monitoring will not change the minds of people who cyberbully or the criminals who prey online. These people will find the means or an outlet to satisfy their hunger to cause society harm.
