Gravity and Hurt locker are similar in the ways of how they use science in their scenes and the suspension that the scenes have. Both films fall under the genre of drama, both films have intense scenes. In Gravity the protagonist, who is Dr. Ryan Stone is dealing with a personal struggle with her faith. She goes to space to escape her problems that she has, the biggest being dealing with the death of her daughter and learning to live without her. Similarly in Hurt Locker Sgt. James who is avoiding his responsibilities of his wife and child back home. He seems to be happier being in another country away from his family at which any time his life could come to an end.
