Grease Character Analysis

I watched the play Grease several times and I believe the actors that were picked to play these characters did a good job playing different roles in the play. An example being the actor that played Rizzo (Stockyard Channing) I could never see her playing Sandy (Olivia Newton-John). Sandy was a nice quiet girl and I feel with the way Stockyard Channing looked it wouldn’t have been the right look. I feel like one of the best actors in the play would be John Travolta (Danny). The way he looks throughout the play with his hair slicked-back and leather jacket gave in the bad boy image, but the way his facial expression looked is what set him out above the rest. Her friends are not the most intelligent so they look up to Rizzo for advice. She doesn’t seem like one that would give very good advice to began with, but when they ask her questions it make her feel like a leader.
I personally like Sandy the quite shy, smart girl from the other school. I moved schools a lot and it was hard being the new person trying to make friends. I feel like Sandy didn’t make the best choice by being friends with Rizzo and her group because at the being Rizzo did try and hurt sandy by telling her she knew Danny. I feel like I went through those same issues throughout life. People would become your friend just to make fun of something you had done.
I think this play is fabulous. The director did a good job of casting the right actors for the right job, the outfits were marvelous for that time period they went well with the themes of the play. I feel like if the supporting characters were not included in the play it wouldn’t have made as much sense. I recommend this play to anyone that likes to watch plays of a different time period. I think people of all ages can find something that relates to their lifestyle throughout the
