The last words of the song resonate and echo through the auditorium. There are few beats of silence before the crowd starts to applaud. The sound is thunder Roaring through the crowd as the girl on stage takes a bow and heads off, smiling as she goes, a spotlight, shining on her like beacon on the dark stage. The seat is glued to my back as I slouch in it, amazed by the song I just heard my sister sister sing.She lives with my and our parents in Marshall, MI, in the bedroom just across the hall from mine. She’s great at school, plays the french horn in her high school band, and loves hanging out with her friends. She inspires me because she works hard every day to become better at what she does, tries many things to reach her goals, and never gives up.
Riley is a singer, and she works hard to become a better one.That’s a reason she inspires me so much. Even though she’s already good, she won’t stop until she becomes better. Sometimes it’s like she’s a marathon runner, still in the middle of the race. Giving up and walking would be so much easier, but she can’t if she want’s to win. She could skip doing a show once and awhile or only sing in one choir during the year, but she doesn’t because singing and theater is what she wants to do in her life, and she’ll need every second of practice that is available to her. Giving up is not an option for her. If she doesn’t get the part she wants, she keeps going. If she doesn’t even make it into the play, she tries again and auditions for the next one. She keeps getting better, although she was already good in the first place.My sister has become a really amazing singer.
