I believe that it would be good to hear the unbiased outsider’s point of view and the common catholic’s point of view. We should be aware that the Eastern Orthodox has many more opinions than the Catholic do. Many issues caused the Great Schism between the East and the East before and after 1054. This document states how the
East had many issues with how the West ran or governed the church.
The Catholic issues prior to 1054 include documents 3 and 4. It states that the
Bulgarian diocese converted to Christianity in the year of 861 CE. If you give Bishops the power that they want, and any symbol of office and they try to refuse to obey us then they will fall under the same excommunication as the others are in. (Statements from document 3).

Spirit proceeds from the Father”, the Pope thought “the Spirit proceeds from the Son”. It went against the traditions of the great early Church fathers.
