Greed In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

The message Shakespeare is trying to teach the audience regarding greed is that if a person was to put something that someone truly desires in front of them, then they will do anything to get it in any way possible. One example is Lucentio’s love for Bianca. “You will be schoolmaster/
And undertake the teaching of the maid:/That’s your device./ It is. May it be done?”(Shakespeare.I.i.164-167). Lucentio at this time is supposed to be going to school and Tranio is just his servant who follows him around. Lucentio would rather risk his education and gain all of the affections of Bianca than actually to school like his father paid and expected him to do. He switches up his whole identity to go and girl.
