Greek Trip To America

I expect this Greece trip to be very beneficial to me personally, professionally, academically, and helping my community engagement skills. I expect a lot of growth to occur during the trip just as it has happened on previous trips I have taken abroad. There is a unique growth that happens in these areas when entering into a new culture. I expect to grow personally during this trip in numerous ways. This trip will help me focus on my self-awareness skills. I have to be aware of how I am acting at all times in another culture to assure I am not doing something offensive to the culture or giving Messiah or the United States a bad reputation. I may be the first American that some of these Greeks will meet and I will be the representative for my country. I also expect to grow spiritually in Greece. It really pushes you in the fact that there are much more distractions around than studying back in Grantham PA. It is important for me to grow in setting my priorities It is easy to not study or do the work assigned and just explore around the whole country. It is also important not to only focus on school work and miss out on all of the cultural experiences. A discovery I made the last time I studied abroad that it is not only the school work that make a study abroad trip challenging, it is also the fatigue from constant travel and time changes. It is no easy to change your internal clock and while trying to adjust with the time to also be traveling thousands of miles. It takes a lot of strength to do this. I also hope to be able to learn how to study and learn in any environment in numerous ways. Experiencing new people and new culture is another way of leaning academically. Personally, being engaged in the country can teach someone a lot about a country such as the currency, different locations in the country and around the country
