Variables:
When you talk about work flexibility, there are variables that come into play. The independent variable in this situation would be the work flexibility while the dependent variable in this situation would be the people who would be the employees. When people take advantage of the work flexibility and use it for their personal gain instead of the good of the business, you are manipulating the actual variable. In my personal opinion, there are people who love to do that. When we look at this situation, we want to look at these different variables. Why do people take advantage of a great situation? Who does this affect when this type of behavior is taking place? Moderate the amount of times that people are practicing this type of behavior. Also how does a supervisor respond to the possible allegation of employees taking advantage of work flexibility? And how do they respond to this situation happening? Most people who do take advantage tend to manipulate others by letting them know that this is not happening, etc. These are the different types of variables that need to be looked at when we look at work flexibility.

Ethical Considerations:
When you consider the ethical side of work flexibility, you have to look at the people that this behavior takes advantage of. Where I work at, we have people that have the work flexibility put in their schedules and don’t need it. When you do a survey, maybe finding out who prefers the work flexibility and who doesn’t or finding out if this should be something that can be rotated amongst the whole staff so that everybody gets a chance to do it is something that can be discussed.
