One out of two group norms that I would say happens is groupthink. I think groupthink is very common in school’s group assignments. I feel like one person starts talking and everybody like, oh yeah, that’s a good idea for our assignment. I think it has to do with group members not knowing each other, and everybody just wants to get the assignment done and over with. I think it’s a benefit in school assignments because the topic is already given and everybody just has to follow instruction, but I think it hinder groups in businesses. If X has an idea for a product that would do great in today’s market, that doesn’t mean everybody should trail X because he is known to be smart.
