I believe in strength. Growing up wasn’t easy for my family and I. My family was constantly moving because we didn't have enough money to pay rent. Everytime we went out I always saw little kids with toys. I asked my mom if I could buy the same toy I saw everywhere but she always said we didn't have enough money for it. Weeks later my mom bought me that same toy that I wanted. I didn’t really understand at that time what we were going through. I was in fifth grade when I saw that my parents were struggling to get money. They worked in the fields and they always got home tired. I had never seen my father cry when someone from his family passed away. But one day my dad got a call and his eyes turned watery. He went to his room and stayed in there the whole day. I asked my mom what had happened and she said my grandma had passed away. My dad didn’t go to work for a whole month but my mom kept working when this all happened. My dad wasn’t eating normally. I was really scared for him. I heard my father cry every night. There were some days my mom and dad would argue because my dad didn’t want to go to work anymore. One day we were robbed and they took all my moms jewelry and money that my parents had hidden. My dad told us he was going back to work. He started working again and we recovered all that money we lost. I asked my dad why he decided to go back to work. He told me he did feel like giving up because he felt like he lost everything when he lost his mom. But then he told me the only reason he got back on his feet was because of us, his family.
